Van conversion: in images Aug 19 Written By Greta Codyre 6 weeks of hard work in photos. Message me if you have any questions & enjoy x Day one with the van. Removing the step. Everything had to be removed before we could start! So many screws to take out! Managed to cut down part of the partition wall. Finally getting somewhere. First lot of insulation arrived but still a long way to go before we can use it. Cam grinding down some small spots of rust on the van floor. We then covered these patches using anti-rust prime & paint. Finally all clear - just the old flooring to remove. Getting dirty with the saw. Cutting out our structural support beams. Attaching support beams using stainless steel screws. First lot of eco-friendly recycled plastic insulation going in! This product is fantastic - easy to use, plus flame and mould resistant. First part of our moisture barrier going up. This was a crucial part of our process - no holes or gaps! Getting there! Plus a cheeky ceiling we snuck in. Working on the side of the road outside our flat til all hours of the night... zzz Who would have thought there were SO many types of screws/nuts/nails/bolts. My brain! Walls going up! Real hardwood flooring going down. Obsessed! Patching up the gaps & screw holes. 0/10 would not recommend or at least properly watch a youtube tutorial first! First lick of primer! Busy bee 1 coat down, 3 more to go! These cubes formed the end of our bed and were an awesome way to keep storage functional. Bed base - very sturdy. Cam making some good progress with our 2 large pull outs drawers for under the bed Painted and handles attached! Some extra shelves for inside the van. Plus, we have light! Cam built cupboards under our 2-seater couch And we have a couch! Our toilet & gas stove lived under there. Thank god Cam is an electrician - our leisure battery set-up DIY netting for our crates Shelves coming together Putting the curtains on above the kitchen Getting some help from a mate to plumb our sink, third try lucky! Some of our kitchen 'drawers' and our Dometic fridge Coming together... ft. my favourite peanut butter ever We eventually put up some slats over the plaster on our ceiling & walls All moved in!
